Letter written June 1, 1921 describes some family situations.

I found a letter from Josephine SHAFER Miller; her mother was Margaret ZOLLMAN. Josie was the 3rd wife of my 2nd great-grandfather Horatio Thompson Miller, born in 1864 and died in 1941. She widowed when H.T. died in 1914. This letter is written June 1, 1921 and post-marked Las Vegas, New Mexico. (The Iowa State Census says she lived in Redding 1925). The 1930 and 1940 Census shows her living with her sister, Mary Fitch, in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

This letter is addressed to her 'Cous Wesley' (J. W. Adair, my grandfather) in Redding and describes some of her financial situation.

Ella may be Carrie Bell MILLER Loutzenhiser

Blanch may be Lizzie Blanche Loutzenhiser

John is probably Josie's son John Charles Shaner

Dewey is Dewey DeCleo Adair, my great-uncle.

Earl is probably Earl David Adair, my grandfather, as he married in 1920.
