Huntsville Ala. Sept. 18.1901
My dear Mr Miller:
Your letter reached me this morning and I am happy to tell you Dr. Miller is still improving. Dr. Will Miller left for Sizemore[?] the 16th. We are very careful about his diet & will be for a long time, we give him beef-[?], buttermilk, and for the first time today chicken broth, it will be a week or more before he can have solid food for its just aa you say, now is the critical time, far of more careful about his diet, a relapse would follow sure; he slept fine all last night ask the nurse to turn him over three times.

& then would go right back to sleep, all he needs now is to have perfect rest, & the right kind of food & he shall certainly have it. We thought best not to read any letter to him for the last thing excites him & [?] his few[?] away [?], I have tried to save all of your letters for him to read when he is better, for then he will appreciate his father all the more, far you have been a time father in [?] [?] & the kind that is to be appreciated it is a sad thing for me say, but my father & mother were both taken away from me in early child-hood, but the best way do is to believe everything is for the best.

Just as soon as he is able I shall let him read your letters, he hasn't seen a paper eaven[?] about McKinley, but I'm saving every paper for him, I have all ready & all [?] to, to do everything for his happiness, for he is the dearest person in this world to me, I love him more right now than my life, so you will see from the speech I will do all in my power for your dear son. I see the weather is much cooler now, another thing [?] have a fire in his room this morning. he said [?] awhile ago will you write a few line to Pap" for me, he said, I do wish I could see him but will just a soon as I'm able to travel
